KCC Entertainment Design received the award ‘Cultural Tourism Project Planning and Creative Design’ for the design we created for the Smurfs Theme Park in Shanghai!
The award ceremony took place on Tuesday evening, before the start of the CAAPA/CAE exhibition.
The award was given by a professional jury of 10 based on these project characteristics:
- The project shows the resilience of the entertainment industry in the current COVID-19 period.
- The project is innovative, creative and sets new benchmarks for design and realisation and operational feasibility and profitability.
- The project is an ambassador for the Chinese Entertainment Industry and appeals to the highest international standards.
The Smurfs (indoor) Theme Park is world’s biggest Smurfs theme park (8.000sqm) and is the cherry on top of an intense and successful cooperation between KCC Entertainment Design, Shimao Property Holding and Belgian Smurfs IP owner IMPS!
Visitors get immerged in the wonderful world of the Smurfs in 3 themed zones and can enjoy 29 Smurfs themed attractions & experiences.
Since it’s opening in April 2020, midst the Covid 19 pandemic, the park is attracting approx. 3.000 daily visitors, largely exceeding the expectations!
